Description
Large, bushy, moderately growing deciduous tree (H 12-18 m, W 8-14 m). Crown narrowly ovate to broadly oval, regular, dense. Bark on young shoots red-brown to green-brown, later dark grey-brown, fissured. Branches branches upright to slightly open, not hanging. Leaves round to heart-shaped (3-10 cm), dark green; underneath light bluish green, with red-brown hairs in vein axils; autumn colour yellow. Flowers in light, hanging inflorescence (3-11 flowers), simple, pale yellow, with numerous anthers, scented. Flowering period: June-July. Fruits dry, ovate to round (0,5-0,8 cm), slightly felty to glabrous, grey-brown. Ripening time: September-October. A tough, adaptable to different soil conditions, normally withstands drought, wind and urban conditoins.
