Description
Small, upright, faster growing, often multi-stemmed deciduous tree (H 4-7 m, W 3-5 m). Crown fen-shaped to flattened spherical. Leaves broad-palmate (5-10 cm), 7-9-lobed, with toothed and revolute margin, at first dark violet-red, to dark brown-red, later red to dark red-green; autumn colour bright orange-red; leaflets remarkable, narrow, with a long, narrowly pointed tip. Flowers violet-red. Flowering period: April-May. Fruits winged, in pairs (very obtuse, almost straight angle), dark red. Ripening time: September-October. Undemanding tree, suitable for urban conditoins, normally grows in different types of soil, except the very heavy and permanently moist soils.
