Leaves broad-palmate (5-10 cm), 7-11-lobed, with finely, deeply serrate margin, at first light red, later light violet-red to wine red, keeping the colour long; autumn colour bright orange-red; leaflets remarkable, narrow, with a long, narrowly pointed tip. Flowers violet-red. Flowering period: April-May. Fruits winged, in pairs (very obtuse, almost straight angle), dark red. Ripening time: September-October. Undemanding tree, suitable for urban conditoins, normally grows in different types of soil, except the very heavy and permanently moist soils.
