Description
Small, upright, broadly growing, often multi-stemmed deciduous tree (H 3-4 m, W 3-5 m). Crown broadly fen-shaped to distinctly dome-shaped. Branches arching. Leaves broad-palmate (5-10 cm), 7-11-lobed, with finely, deeply serrate margin, at first coppery red, later light coppery red to red, later dark green; autumn colour bright orange-red; leaflets remarkable, very narrow, with a long, narrowly pointed tip. Flowers violet-red. Flowering period: April-May. Fruits winged, in pairs (very obtuse, almost straight angle), dark red. Ripening time: September-October. Undemanding tree, suitable for urban conditoins, normally grows in different types of soil, except the very heavy and permanently moist soils.
