Description
Large, bushy, moderate to fast growing deciduous tree (H 15-20 m, W 10-12 m). Crown broadly conical to broadly oval, at maturity dome-shaped. Bark on young shoots yellow to green, later grey to black-grey. Branches upright to open, later distinctly hanging. Leaves broadly ovate to heart-shaped (4-10 cm), with a finely serrate margin, glossy, dark green, underneath light green; autumn colour yellow. Flowers in light, hanging inflorescence (3-9 flowers), simple, pale yellow, with numerous anthers, scented. Flowering period: June-July. Fruits dry, ovate (0,9 cm), felty, grey. Ripening time: September-October. Adaptable to different soil conditions, normally withstands drought, heat and urban conditoins. Requires warm sites. Tilia × euchlora is a cross T. cordata × T. dasystyla.
