Description
Small, weeping, deciduous ornamental tree (H 3-4 m, depands as well on grafting height, W 3-4 m). Crown umbrella-shaped to broadly dome-shaped, eventually irregular, very picturesque. Branches distinctly hanging, densely arranged. Leaves lanceolate (6-8 cm), green, autumn colour yellow-orange. Flowers double (2 cm), pink to light pink. Flowering period: April. Fruits rare or absent. Attracts butterflies, bees and birds. Requires light, deep, always moderately moist, but well-drained soils. Variety's full name: Prunus × subhirtella 'Pendula Plena Rosea'. Prunus × subhirtella is probably a hybrid between Prunus incisa and P. pendula or between P. incisa and P. spachiana.
