Description
Small, upright, broad, moderately growing deciduous tree (H 5-7 m, W 6-9 m). Crown broadly vase-shaped to rounded, at maturity eventually dome-shaped. Leaves palmate (5-10 cm), 3-5-lobed, with a serrate margin, glossy, dark green; autumn colour bright red, dark red to dark violet-red; leaflets remarkable, narrow, long, with pointed tip. Flowers in large inflorescence, pale yellow to white, ornamental. Flowering period: April. Fruits winged, in pairs (acute angle, wings almost touched), light red. Ripening time: September-October. Easily withstands urban conditions, heat and wind. Full name: Acer tataricum subspecies ginnala.
