Description
Large, bushy, fast growing deciduous tree (14-20 m, W 8-12 m). Crown broadly ovate to rounded, dense. Branches upright to open. Bark on young shoots green-brown, later grey, smooth to slightly flaky. Leaves broadly rhomboid to triangular (5-14 cm), lobed (6-8-lobed), slightly glossy, mid green, underneath light green; autumn colour yellow to bright orange-red. Flowers in clusters (7-12 cm), simple, cup-shaped (1-1,5 cm), white. Flowering period: May-June. Fruits in clusters, ovate (1,5 cm), fleshy, yellow, yellow-brown to light brown. To be used fresh, for juicing or for cooking and making jams. Ripening time: October. Attracts butterflies, bees and birds. Requires light, open, sunny sites. Easily withstands occasional drought, heat and urban conditoins.
