Description
Small, compact, prostrate, slow growing evergreen shrub, conifer (H 0,7-1 m, W 1-1,3 m). Bark reddish-brown to grey, flaky to fissured. Crown at first rounded, later more broad, flattened, dense. Branches horizontal, short, densely branched. Buds egg-shaped, slightly resinous, very light brown. Needles (8-10 cm) pointed, in pairs, thin, soft, light green-yellow to yellow-green. Flowers separately arranged in male and female inflorescence on the same plant. Flowering period: April. Fruits cones (4-7 cm), elongate egg-shaped, yellow brown. Requires dry, well-drained soils. Useful as a container-plant.
