Description
Small, compact, slow growing evergreen shrub, conifer (H 0,8-1,5 m, depands as well on grafting height, W 1-1,5 m). Bark reddish-brown to grey, flaky to fissured. Crown broadly ovoid to rounded, dense, later slightly flattened. Branches widely spreading, short, densely branched. Young shoots light reddish. Buds egg-shaped, slightly resinous. Needles (8-10 cm) pointed, in pairs, thin, soft, light green. Flowers separately arranged in male and female inflorescence on the same plant. Flowering period: April. Fruits cones (4-7 cm), elongate egg-shaped, yellow brown. Requires dry, well-drained soils. Useful as a container-plant.
