Description
Small, upright, faster growing, often multi-stemmed deciduous tree (H 5-8 m, W 4-5 m). Crown broadly fen-shaped to ovate, at maturity eventually dome-shaped. Bark light red. in winter distinctly light salmon red. Leaves broad-palmate (5-10 cm), 7-11-lobed, with serrate margin, light to mid green; autumn colour butter yellow to light orange; leaflets remarkable, wider, with a narrowly pointed tip. Flowers violet-red. Flowering period: April-May. Fruits winged, in pairs (very obtuse, almost straight angle), dark red. Ripening time: September-October. Undemanding tree, suitable for urban conditoins, normally grows in different types of soil, except the very heavy and permanently moist soils.
