Description
Small, upright, narrower, slow growing, often multi-stemmed deciduous tree (H 4-6 m, W 3-3,5 m). Crown fen-shaped to rounded. Leaves broad-palmate (5-9 cm), 5-7-lobed, with slightly serrate margin, at first light wine red later darker, red-violet to black-red, they keep colour very long; autumn colour bright red; leaflets remarkable, with a long, narrowly pointed tip. Flowers violet-red. Flowering period: April-May. Fruits winged, in pairs (very obtuse, almost straight angle), dark red. Ripening time: September-October. Undemanding tree, suitable for urban conditoins, normally grows in different types of soil, except the very heavy and permanently moist soils.
