Description
Medium-sized, upright evergreen tree, conifer (H 10-15 m, W 4-7 m). Bark grey, roughly flaky. Crown characteristically conical to broadly conical. Branches widely spreading, later hanging in a distinctive, arching way. Young shoots very light grey. Buds broadly egg-shaped. Needles (7-10 cm) pointed, in pairs, stiff, prominent, dark green. Flowers separately arranged in male and female inflorescence on the same plant. Flowering period: April. Fruits cones (5-8 cm), egg-shaped, glossy, at first dark grey-blue, ripe dark grey-brown. Requires dry, sufficiently drained soils. Very undemanding vrsta bora, very tolerant to drought, cold, heat, wind and urban conditoins.
