Description
Large, upright, broad, deciduous tree (H 25-35 m, W 15-20 m). Crown ovate to dome-shaped, picturesque. Bark on young shoots grey to olive green, later patched, grey to light brown, flaky, ornamental. Buds green. Leaves broad-palmate (15-20 cm), 5-lobed, leaflets remarkable, wide, broad-pointed tips; with a slightly serrate margin, teeth short, slightly rounded; leaves dark green, lighter beneath, with dense, grey hair; autumn colour bright yellow. Flowers green-yellow. Flowering period: April-May. Fruits winged, in pairs (acute, almost right angle), light brown. Ripening time: September-October. Easily withstands wind, cold and salty soils, long-lived tree.
