Description
Dwarf, broad, at first fast growing tree or large, bushy shrub (H 2,5-3 m, W 3-5 m). Bark dark brown, smooth. Young shoots dark brown, glabrous. Leaves pinnately compound (30-45 cm), leaflets narrow-lanceolate to linear (up to 12 cm), partly with soft hairs, above bright green, underneath light to grey-green; leaves autumn colour bright orange-red. Flowers green-yellow to lemon yellow, in upright panicles, male and female flowers on separate plants, dioecious plant. Flowering period: July. Fruits produced on female plants only, fruit-clusters upright, cylindrical (10-15 cm), dense, velvety dark red. Ripening time: September-October. Easily withstands heat, drought and urban conditions, grows well also in poor, shallow soils.
