Description
Large, broad, fast growing, bushy deciduous tree (H 20-30 m, W 12-20 m). Bark light brown, flaky, coloured in patches of light yellow, olive green, grey-brown; ornamental. Crown broadly pyramidal to broadly spherical, at maturity very broad, eventually irregular, open. Leaves palmate (15-25 cm), 3-5-lobed, smooth, green. Flowers in round inflorescence, yellow-green. Flowering period: April. Fruits tiny, dark brown, in round clusters (2 cm). Ripening time: October. Easily withstands urban conditions, heat, drought and pruning. Full name: Platanus × hispanica, Platanus × acerifolia is a cross Platanus orientalis and P. occientalis.
