Description
Small, bushy deciduous tree (3-4 m, W 3-4 m). Crown broadly ovate to broadly spherical. Branches upright to widely spreading, eventually slightly hanging. Bark light grey to brown-grey, smooth, later lightly fissured. Leaves broadly ovate (15-20 cm), pinnate, with 11-13 leaflets, glossy, dark green, autumn colour yellow to dark orange-red. Flowers in clusters (up to 15 cm), simple, cup-shaped (1 cm), white. Flowering period: May-June. Fruits in clusters, round (0,8 cm), fleshy, light pink to light red-pink. Ripening time: September-October. Attracts butterflies, bees and birds. Undemanding tree, withstands occasional drought and urban conditoins.
