Description
Medium-sized, compact, slow growing evergreen shrub (H 2-2,5 m, W 2-2,5 m). Crown broadly ovate to rounded, dense. Leaves narrowly ovate (4-9 cm), leathery, slightly glossy, dark green. Flowers in dense, half-round inflorescence (8-12 cm), simple (1 cm), in buds red-pink, open light pink to white. Flowering period: March-April, eventually from November untill spring. Fruits ovate (0,6 cm), glossy, bright dark blue. Attracts butterflies and bees. Needs a warm, sheltered position and light, deep, humus-rich, well-drained soils. Not hardy in central-european continental climate, eventually ga best grown as a container-plant. Easily withstands summer drought and heat.
