Description
Root barrier (Root Barrier or Root stopper) is made of 100% virgin HDPE material, 1 or 2 mm thick (100% virgin high density polyethylene). The product is waterproof, flexible and has a long lifespan. When the root of the plant reaches the barrier, the barrier will inhibit or stop its growth. Root barriers are installed within a radius of at least 2 meters from the tree, in vertical installations. When installed horizontally, the selection of plant species, the provision of sufficient growing space, and the thickness of protection according to plant species are essential. The barrier is suitable for the protection of utility infrastructure, basement, underground garage houses, flat green roofs, road or other built-up areas to protect them from roots. It should only be used if there is enough growth space for the selected tree or plant species. If the barrier is placed too close to the tree or plant, it has a stabilising effect.
The barrier is selected according to the depth or purpose of protection, thus preventing root growth. For vertical installation, note the following:
