Description
Small, broadly growing, semi-prostrate deciduous shrub (H 1-1,5 m, W 1-1,5 m). Branches mostly widely spreading, hanging in a distinctive, arching way. Bark light brown, it peels off decoratively in strips. Leaves broadly egg-shaped (3-6 cm), shallow palmately dissected, with a serrate margin, light to dark green. Flowers numerous, in umbels (4-7 cm), simple (0,5 cm), scented, white, eventually with a pink hue. Flowering period: May-June. Fruits dry follicles (up to 0,5 cm), in umbells, brown, ornamental. Ripening time: August-October. Attracts butterflies and bees. Needs acidic, well-drained, deep soils, it grows well in moist soils. A very good ground-covering shrub for planting on slopes.
