Description
Small, bushy deciduous tree (6-8 m, W 4-5 m). Crown compact, narrowly pyramidal. Branches upright to slightly open, densely arranged. Bark light brown-green, later grey-brown. Leaves broadly ovate (15-20 cm), pinnate, with 15-19 leaflets, dark green, autumn colour brown-red to bright orange-red. Flowers in clusters (8-15 cm), simple, cup-shaped (1 cm), white. Flowering period: May-June. Fruits in clusters, round (0,8-1 cm), fleshy, cream white to bright light yellow. Ripening time: August-October. Attracts butterflies, bees and birds. Undemanding tree, withstands occasional drought and urban conditions, grows well also in poor soils.
