Description
Medium-sized deciduous tree (10-15 m, W 5-7 m). Crown pyramidal, dense, regular, at maturity broadly ovate to rounded. Branches upright to widely spreading, eventually slightly hanging. Bark dark green-brown, later grey-brown. Leaves broadly ovate (15-23 cm), pinnate, with 13-15 leaflets, at first slightly hairy; mid dark green, underneath light green; autumn colour yellow to orange-red. Flowers in clusters (up to 20 cm), simple, cup-shaped (1 cm), cream white. Flowering period: May-June. Fruits in rich bunches, round (1-1,3 cm), fleshy, bright red. To be used fresh, for juicing or for cooking and making jams. Ripening time: September-October, very high yield. Attracts butterflies, bees and birds.
