Description
Small, upright, bushy, deciduous tree or a large, bushy shrub (H 5-6 m, W 4-6 m). Crown broadly vase-shaped to broadly oval. Bark on young shoots bright red. Bark on older branches in debla bright red with thin, white, longitudinal stripes, ornamental. Leaves broadly egg-shaped (10-17 cm), shallowly 3-5-lobed, with a serrate margin, variegated, light pink to white, with green in bright pink spots; petioles and veins bright pink-red; autumn colour light yellow; leaflets not distinctive, eventually only as a larger tooth on leaf-margin. Flowers green-yellow. Flowering period: May. Fruits winged nuts, in pairs, red-brown. Ripening time: September-October.
