Description
Large, bushy, fast growing deciduous tree (H 15-20 m, W 10-12 m). Crown pyramidal to broadly oval, regular, dense. Bark on young shoots green to red-brown, later dark grey-brown, fissured. Branches upright to widely spreading, later hanging. Leaves round to heart-shaped (6-10 cm), glossy, dark green; underneath light bluish green, with red-brown hairs in vein axils; autumn colour yellow. Flowers in light, hanging inflorescence (3-11 flowers), simple, pale yellow, with numerous anthers, scented. Flowering period: June-July. Fruits dry, ovate to round (0,5-0,8 cm), slightly felty to glabrous, grey-brown. Ripening time: September-October. A tough, adaptable to different soil conditions, normally withstands drought, wind and urban conditoins.
